Day 3: City Tour in Palawan

November 11, 2011 our last day in Puerto Prinsesa get-away. Our flight back to Manila is still in the afternoon so we spent our whole day in touring the most visited place in Palawan. That day is very hot and sunny good thing we hire an air-conditioned van that day so that it may be easy access for us to be on the place that we wanted to go, with the help of our guide Kuya Ding he just drove us to the places where tourist usually had stopover. We just leave it all to him, his the one in-charged on where to take us. It's him already ;) (kuya Ding, ikaw na)

First stop is Palawan Museum:

Palawan Museum
More facts and informations about the Palawan Museum: http://thepalawanmuseum.wordpress.com/

Entering the museum... just like any other exhibit archive it is full of information and history about Palawan itself. You will found artifacts, maps, pots, precious stones, gems (jewelries), instruments and different kind of creations both made by man and nature in the past and in the present.

This are some of the things that you will find in the museum. Just like in Mindanao, Palawan is also rich in culture. This museum was established on the year 1991 and it showcases the history, culture, music, arts, crafts of Palawan.

Having fun inside the museum, I was amazed by the exhibit that they have made inside. Many new learning are in-stored for me about this "Paraiso sa Silangan". It is the best place for students having research work.

The Palawan Museum is easy to be find because it is located in downtown along commercial streets in the city, particularly in Rizal Avenue facing Mendoza Park. In rushing in the museum they will be collecting entrance fees Adults: PhP20. Students: Php10. (college students) Php5. (high-school students). The museum opens from Mondays to Saturdays (9am-5pm).

City Baywalk

A quick glimpse at Palawan's known Baywalk, it is only Me, Honeysol and Gladys who went out of the van just to see their baywak and have picture taking at the place.

This color-fish fish displays is one of the main attraction here in this park because it captivates the tourist attention, and it is a splendid spot for picture taking.

PASALUBONG BUYING...

It is pasalubong buying time for us, there are lots of stuff you will find in their pasalubong store but their best recommended store is the Tiange' especially the Cora Palawan Pearls and Souvenir shop it is located at Tiange-Tiange Lacao cor. Carandang st. and it is also accesible via tricycle. Here you finds find different kinds of accessories, pearls, t-shirts, keychains, handicraft stuffs and the delicacy foods.

LUNCH TIME...

Having lunch @ Balinsasayaw Chicken Grill & Restaurant, we had seafood for lunch and and very yummy desert to follow up with a Buko Gelatin. This place serves good food that will suit your taste and the place has a plus point very alternative type is also covered with green leafy plants on the area. It is one of the most visited restaurant here in Puerto Prinsesa.

The face of the happy eaters... we are very satisfied with the food being served the food is such a thumps up very tolerable. Very sulit!!

Palawan Butterfly Garden

fly fly fly the butterfly....

It is located at Santa Monica, Puerto Prinsesa wita a very cheap entrance fee for just Php20. you may now tour inside the garden, the fees that they collect is the one that they will used in preserving this little species. Indeed this garden has lots of flying species especially butterflies. It is a place for butterfly sanctuary and preserving them. There still different species found here, the garden is not as big as I expected. The place is covered with a net so that the butterflies can fly freely within the area of the conservatory, and because it is a garden you may also noticed different kind of plants particularly green leafy and a plant with blossoms of flowers.

Luckily one of the butterfly stayed in my hand for a while it seems that it loved my smell becuse butterflies do love the blossom smells and it a wonderful experienced for me to be with the beautiful butterflies.

This are some of the living species found in the garden.

Mitra's Ranch

Our tour guide (kuya ding) took us the this nice scenic top view here Palawan the Mitra's Ranch. On our way here we passed by a subdivision of residence and the houses here are mostly mansion type. The Mitra' Ranch is owned by the family of politicians the Mitra's. Inside this ranch you will find a big mansion in a top view highland. It is one the the peaceful place here in Puerto Prinsesa and you'll love the breeze of fresh air. Lot of picture taking happened here.

It is open to the viewing public from 6am-6pm with a Php10. entrance fee.
The famous Petrang Kabayo is here!! hehehe...
We also spare a quick time in taking pictures with the horses.

Baker's Hill

This place smell so good and the smell is so inviting that you wanted to eat again. If your looking for the best Hopia this is the right place to be. Being in this place you may buy sweets and very freshly baked pastries good for pasalubongs. Me myself tasted their hopia and it the best hopia that I ever tasted, simply outstanding.

This establishment has its own unique taste from captivating the tourist attention to be in the said place. It is so persuading, its like your in a mini-Disneyland. You will find tons of popular statues of celebrities, cartoon characters, etc.. and playgrounds for the kids to play with. Both kids and adults would probably like and appreciate this beautiful park.

And now for our final stop:

Iwahig Prison & Penal Farm

This is one of the most popular prison here in the Philippines, it is only the penal institution wherein prisoners are not locked up in a certain sell. It doesn't seem to look like a prison house for me, its more of a society and a village of convicted person living in this farm, wherein you'll see tons of houses wherein the families of the prisoners can actually live with them. the captives ge involved in some industrial and agricultural work here.

Inside the colony you will finds a souvenir shop, what they are selling are souvenir items personally made by the prisoners of Iwahig using only light and indigenous materials. This serves as your donation to them if you buy their items.

You will also be entertained by their very own Iwahig Dancing inmates wherein you may join them in dancing, they are also one of the main attraction in this place in Palawan. In fact one of my friend honeysol join them to dance the "The sign" by: Ace of Base
